Today sucked. I have a long, hard day ahead of me tomorrow, lasting at least eleven hours. Probably without a lunch break.

Is it too much to ask that I not have freaking insomnia??

(Apparently.)

(ETA: And the most likely cure is a shower and the shower? Is still broken, because the plumber is a twit and fixed it wrong. GAH. I'm too stiff for something constructive and active; too brain-dead to write or read or revise (not that it needs it, I never knew I was so freaking neurotic), nothing I have on my hard drives or on DVD sounds appealing...kill. me. now. WHY ISN'T THE SWIMMING POOL OPEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT??)

(ETA2: I have too much hair. I am going to cut it off. Yes, all of it, dammit, I'm sure I have an attractive skull.)

24-Hour Fitness is right down the street from you, and their showers should be free at about this time.

Please don't cut your hair.

THE HAIR IS CAUSING THE INSOMNIA.

It is hot and thick and...and...and...just...it is ALL THE HAIR'S FAULT, OKAY??

I realise I sound like a lunatic. I haven't slept more than two hours without the help of drugs in nearly two weeks. And I only dared drug myself once.

IF IT IS THE HAIR'S FAULT, IT HAS TO GO, OKAY??

Coincidentally I saw a computer image of my skull the other day. I've been doing some research for people in the lab and have had a couple of MRIs. The guy running it had an image of my skull+skin so he could line up the coordinates, but I was marvelling at it.

At least I know now that I don't have any weird lumps and might be able to get away with a shaved head.

In conclusion, I'd recommend not shaving your head until you have an MRI done to ensure that you'd look OK.

Good luck getting some sleep. Insomnia is one of the most stressful things.

This is for both yesterday and today. I hope you feel better soon, and I'll be here if you need any stress-relief or anything. :)

Insomnia does suck, but make sure it isn't EVERYTHING, I'm sorry, but I'm not sure your face can handle shaved.
I'm sorry about the insomnia, I had that problem with my massive sinus infection. IT just makes everything ten times worse.

Don't cut your hair off in December - you'll freeze to death throughout the winter!

If you don't have the smooth skull to rock the Lex Luthor, try cutting your hair layered and extremely short at the back of the head and sweeping down and forward into a blunt cut that ends below the chin. That way your head doesn't freeze and you just have to wear a scarf.

It's the most efficient haircut I've ever found, and the hair doesn't get all hot on the back of my neck because it's all chopped off there.
