I know alla y'all are suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper thrilled about FOB, and you know, good for you! I've enjoyed them as characters for a long time, and I'm glad you will all get to be happy.

The Hush Sound is back together and clearly that is the veryveryvery BEST of all possible news ever in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD.

I've already squeed all over Twitter about the NEW ALBUM and the TOURING and the COMING TO UTAH, but! I wanted to share a bit of my evening with you, dear LJ. Mostly bc explaining the cast of characters alone would use up like, four tweets.

Lady 1's sister-in-law promised to go with me to the Hushies because she UNDERSTANDS MUSICAL OBSESSION like NOBODY ELSE I KNOW(she and I click on all kinds of super awesome mutual squealish levels) and she promised not to mock me if I cry. (SPOILER: I WILL PROBABLY CRY. IF GRETA SINGS THE ARTIST I WILL DEFINITELY CRY.)

So I was confirming with her that she would keep the date open, because I need her, and her girlfriend spoke up: "Wait, The Hush Sound?"

ME: YOU KNOW THE HUSH SOUND?

HER: Really, I thought they were...?!?!?

ME: I KNEW I LIKED YOU FOR A REASON. Wanna come?

So yay, I need to buy another ticket to go see MY FAVORITE BAND EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD.

Sometimes life is really awesome, y'all.

omg then I actually know them. my ex-fiance burned me a disk of some of their stuff and although I haven't gotten to know it intimately I really really like a couple tracks. I FEEL SO COOL NOW. :B

yeah i saw that... original meaning she's not involved anymore, or she's just flighty like all musicians and has eight other 'projects'?

They started THS when they were in high school; they put together and toured for three albums, then took a "break" which everyone who loves them was terrified meant their label issues had DESTROYED THEM and we would NEVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN, and Greta went on to form a band of retro-summery-pop called Gold Motel. (I went to New York to hear them. YES I'M THAT CRAZY, but you knew that.) Gold Motel put out two albums but stayed mostly off-official-label; I like their music? But it's not my style as much as The Hush Sound's is, and Greta and Bob (of the Hushies) really balance each other well, I think.

Bob tried to be part of STAMPS for a while, although he hasn't been in a couple of years; Chris disappeared into the ether as far as I know; Darren drummed randomly with a lot of local bands and also was part of a band that called itself Debate Team. That band was not super successful. (...shockingly)
