Hoopla! I was accepted as a CM beta! Yes! *drools over the prospect* This is going to be SO much fun...not to mention the fact that it is a nice resume plumper.

In sadder news...I'm back. I have promised to try, socially and academically and all the rest of it...and if I still want to come home at the end of the semester I can. But for the next four months...I'm back.

Thank you, all my darling Council friends, for having that e-mail arrive at just the opportune moment...if I hadn't had something to be elated about I would be really, really depressed right now.

Having a good beta (and I saw your score! :) is a great learning experience. Just remember that you can hit that reject button if your people aren't making the suggested changes. You have the power...

I'm actually pretty good about that kind of thing. I was an editor of my HS lit mag for two years, and when you get over 1000 submissions for a 150-poem magazine, you learn when to refuse it, when to change it, and when to go "Good! Very good!" Thank Cimorene. Learning when to be tough is the hardest part of the beta/editor learning process.

It has...although I accidentally took a fic from one of the absolutely best writers on there and then flipped because I realised it was by her...and now it uploaded the unbetaed version and I can't figure how to fix it. *sigh* Great first impression. Ah, well. Experience is important.
