Yesterday was the dance. And I was expecting fun, and it WAS fun…oh, how I adore these crazed, lunatic, freak (Taboo word!!) friends of mine. I’m lucky.

Okay, okay, enough, enough…figure this out later. This is a test of your LJ powers, remember…describe the dance.

Fun. Zem, Amla’s dad doing that is beyond horrible of him. It put us all off. And Liskabeth…what was going on, exactly? Not that I mind, precisely (we were half an hour late, ourselves), but what kept her? Taboo did not work, not a bit…they really shouldn’t trust me to handle numbers, it’s a very bad idea. But the word part was fun, and I adore Amla’s Ernie collection—she actually HAS “Like to Visit the Moon”, can you imagine? *Alanna moment: “And the duke wears a red-gold brocade dressing gown” HAH!* I did feel a bit left out while helping to cook, but I did offer. And dinner was so crazy. I wonder why I was so not-hungry? Poor Kimi…that test is NOT going to be fun if she can’t read. I would have offered to run her when I took Chase home if I’d known what was going on. But at least it cut off the amount of time we spent at the dance. I prefer it that way. I don’t really enjoy the “dance” part of dances. Thank the Good Man Above I spent my high school years in Utah. Otherwise I just wouldn’t bother to GO. As it is, I’m happy.

And what IS going on w/ Marie and Luke? She was really pushing things…though he was pushing right back. How well do they really know each other, and how is this affecting Tyler (other Tyler…the one who’s head over heels for her and friends w/ Luke)? I didn’t know she was thinking of Luke as anything other than a friend, though, admittedly, I’m not really terribly close to her…we’re just friends w/ the same people. And that movie is HILARIOUS!!! I ADORE IT!!! LONG LIVE SPACEBALLS…some of those lines, I’m going to have to watch it again, just so I can write them down.

New topic, as I’ve just been reading Allison’s LJ. These quizzes are COOL!!! I’m a “Water Goddess”—liking calm and tranquility, which is, in fact, mostly me—“Narcissa”—The most fashion conscious of the Malfoys, you're probably insane, and your friends worry you'll poison them, but at least you're always in style…which is, in fact, not at all me, I never worry abt fashion…although the insane part fits—“A freeform writer”—Individualistic with a sense for the different and challenging, Walt Whitman and his poetry lacking meter and rhyme is just what the doctor ordered. You're quick to write something that the rest of the world doesn't accept as poetry, quick to separate yourself from the average joe. An author with a true sense of self, you have confidence in your abilities and aren't afraid to show it. :) GO YOU!, so-so, I find that last bit odd when the one of the very-limited options I chose said that “when I show my writing to people”: “I don’t, it’s junk,” and I don’t know that challenging is exactly the right word, and I dislike most of Whitman, but the general gist is right—58% Evil With a style rating of 58%—There is evil here with sufficient style to look cool, odd—Some of these things didn’t have options I would pick, though…And I love what she says abt Klarisse and Amy talking abt the war: “This does not help my sense of impending doom.”—was she talking Ads-Ame or someone else, I wonder? I keep forgetting that terrence is Klarisse, for no real reason. I never even knew her just as terrence, except vicariously. And franny’s comment on Fire and Hemlock was interesting…I actually am still really confuse by that book, it leaves me with the same kinds of feelings I got from Heart of Darkness, but I’m glad she’s going DWJ, it’s the best thing in the world to be (except possibly HP).

It’s odd how quickly and comfortably I’ve accepted these people. But I have. They’re sweet, darling, angel-people, who are really worth communicating with, and I feel like I’ve known them for forever. I do wish more of them spent more time on the board. I adore this life that I have now…a combination of Euphony people, Riddles, fannon, school (well we could do with a little less of that) and my own writing, which is, I’m please to say, I think really taking off.

Speaking of school…AP TESTS START TOMORROW!!! AND ELUCREH IS NERVOUS AS H—THE BAD PLACE BELOW (in Judy terms)—ABT THE STUPID LIT ESSAYS!!!! And I hope I can make myself get out of bed in time for breakfast. I’ll have to. I need to go to bed. EARLY.

Speaking of my writing, that idea for a Founder’s fic redeeming Hufflepuff is really taking shape. But Zem, it’s going to take research. I don’t know anything abt that period of time. My knowledge doesn’t go back beyond around the lady Eleanore, who came five or six hundred years later. Lots of holds at the library, some of which will hopefully help. But YAY!!! According to the poli map I found today, Spain was mostly Moorish *Miss Marple moment: “meaning, of course, that he’d like a little more”* when I’m setting this thing, which means Sal can be, and I’m very pleased w/ that…can’t decide now whether I want him just unwilling to pay the tax (which would make a great psycho-expl-type fic and kill my nasty conscience-slash-Allison objections to how he’s likely to turn out otherwise) or else one OF the Moors, which would make sense too, but is likely to make conscience-slash-Allison complain harder. Either way, great development. Setback in that Switzerland was, closely as I can determine, French back then, something I don’t want AT ALL. Bother.

Okay, Katina’s decided to actually sleep tonight, but I hope this works!
