Mothering Harry: Method to Their Madness?

Even though Harry's never really known his mother, he's had a lot of mothering in his life. Petunia, Arabella, Lily, Molly--cases could even be made for Hermione and Minerva. But one interesting thing about all of them is how often they "shield" him from the truth... and how often it works. Cases can be made for both the successes and failures of their efforts. A discussion of Harry's "mothers" and how well the decisions that they make for him work out.
