Nov. 3rd, 2006 05:10 pmNotice to my Yuletide Santa:
I love irony and sarcasm and snark. I like humor, as much as you can possibly load in. I like in-jokes, especially with canon. I like stories where characters learn and grow and change. I like plans that backfire, or seem to backfire. I like plot. I like keeping the tone of canon as much as possible. If I requested a character, I like him/her...so please, even if it is necessary to be mean to them, let it end happily. Crack is totally okay, although try to find a reason for it to happen even if the idea is cracky.
I don't like non-con, scarily dark, unresolved angst, or deliberate cruelty (except by villains.)
Basically it boils down to: humor. Humorous fluff, probably, especially given my prompts, but it doesn't have to be fluff. Especially when it comes to Calvin, I would love him to just be mad and pull her pigtails some more, or sabotage her homework.
If you have an idea that doesn't fit the prompts, but really grabs you, and the prompts really just aren't working for you, I'd rather have something you enjoyed writing and feel you did well with than something you struggled with and aren't proud of.
I'm very excited to see your work, and I hope you have a lot of fun writing!
