So, one day when I was teaching and the kids were busy, I was bored and drew this. I knew I was going to HCT soon and that I would be meeting shihadchick for the first time, so I cafepressed the drawing sans OT4 in the corner to make her laugh, and wore it to the concert.
While I was standing in the line, Zack was wandering up and down it, and he noticed my shirt and came over to me.
ZACK: "What--what is that?"
LU: "They're stick figures."
ZACK: *considers shirt*
ZACK: "Okay, I see Ryan and Bden,(HE ACTUALLY SAID BDEN. OUT LOUD. ANYWAY) but which is Jon and which is Spencer?"
LU: "Well...Spencer has real shoes, and Jon has flipflops."
He looked like that was the best thing he had heard all month, seriously.
ZACK: Where did you get that made?
LU: Um...Cafepress? It's an online shop, they print stuff on shirts.
ZACK: But who designed it?
LU: Um...I did?
ZACK: *abruptly* You here with anybody?
LU: Um, I'm meeting my friend, but I think she's inside, she had...early admittance or something?
ZACK: "So, would you wanna come and meet the guys?"
LU: *sputters* Um...sure?
ZACK: *hands over M&G wristband, heads to EE line*
LU: *follows, completely confounded by this development*
CLAIRE: OH GOD I THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER FIND YOU AND DIE AT THIS GODFORSAKEN VENUE
LU: I THINK MY TSHIRT SAVED YOUR LIFE. OR AT LEAST YOUR VIRTUE. GOD BLESS ZACK.
On the way in, they were searching my bag to make sure I wasn't trying to sneak in cookies for the boys or anything, and they found my advil. The zackling searching it was all, "Are pills okay?" and Zack looked at me and said, "Will you share?" and winked at me. And from that moment on, I was a Zack girl.
(Later, he explained everything I had told him about the shirt to Ryan while I stood there trying not to explode, and he was teasing me that I would get it printed and sell thousands of copies. Mostly I spluttered and ran away, because of the unfortunate part where Spencer was the first one at the table and I made the mistake of looking into his eyes, completely losing all control of the English language. When I got up to do the picture part, Brendon told me the shirt was "rad, seriously", which at least stopped me being so fucking nervous because part of me was able to be going "RAD, BRENDON, SERIOUSLY?" And that is my great adventure. Sorry to have rambled so much. The story of the shirt, the end.)
--Greta told a story in one of the HCT videos (I can't find it, I'm sorry!) about how she tried to play the violin when she was a little girl, but she gave up because it was "too squeaky, mama."
--The Shane at Disneyland with Bden's parents...somebody leaked private family photos of Shane celebrating Christmas with them there, including a picture of him opening HIS OWN STOCKING. BOYFRIENDS!!!!!
--Once when Dylan was lost, Shane placed an ad on Craigslist that read "Lost my bestfriend puppy." It is lots of fun to spend an hour or so debating whether he left out the apostrophe-s, meant that Dylan is his best friend, or is as much a firm believer in Brendon's puppy qualities as we are.
--Their first RBL show, just before the last song:
BRENDON: So you guys warmed me up, good job. I'm tired, and sweaty, and probably smelly--
RYAN: It's past his bedtime!
BRENDON: Yeah, it's three hours past my be--I should have been in my cage like, four hours ago.
--Pete told us at my concert, this last tour, about how he's a new dad, right, so he's trying to cut down on the swearing, and he has a swear jar, and every time he says a bad word on stage he has to put in a dollar. And then he takes the money, and he has to use it to buy fish sticks, and then he has to put them *dramatic pause* IN HIS MOUTH.
