Dec. 1st, 2003 01:29 pmProcrastination still...gacked from the zillions of people on my friends list...
25 things you don't know about me
1. I was a Babysitter's Club fan. Yes, I am ashamed of it. No, I am not any longer. *shudders* But it happened. I owned a ton of the books.
2. I adore garage sales and similar.
3. My lucky piece is a ceramic "sand castle" scattered with green glitter that I bought once when we went to an island in South Carolina. It's actually rather pretty.
4. I hate swimming in natural water. Hate it. Hate the slime, hate not daring to open my mouth, hate plants, hate fish. I love looking at natural bodies of water, and I adore boating of all kinds, but I hate swimming in it.
5. I'm a closet country-western fan. Well, not really, but nobody except my family and close friends really know about it. I don't talk about it much.
6. My great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, and I are all twenty-five years apart. This makes it easy to remember how old they are!
7. I have never broken a bone, but I've come extremely close twice.
8. I love socks with funny things on them. Monkeys, cats, words...
9. My first story was written at the age of five, about a rabbit called cutesy who ran a race and got a "bloodey toe" but was brave and won the race anyway.
10. I'm currently working on two novels. Neither is going well. Shh.
11. Twice in my life I have set my hair on fire. One candle, one gas stove.
12. I have an acute interest in superstitions and their "logic"--it's a study of mine.
13. I was dragged reluctantly into being Veruca Salt in the sixth-grade play and then gave the star performance. No, seriously, I swear to you, if we ever have a class reunion, no one else will remember who played what, but they'll identify me as Veruca.
14. I adore the eighties TV show Designing Women. Also The Nanny.
15. I am a Horton the Elephant fan.
16. I hate almost all vegetables. I can tolerate carrots (taste and texture), but I'm allergic to them (I'm also allergic to furry animals, melons, and bananas). The only vegetable I truly enjoy is steamed broccoli.
17. I don't do horror. Not the books, not the movies. They give me nightmares...even the Goosebumps books gave me nightmares!
18. I love old radio comedies. Especially Our Miss Brooks.
19. I read baby name books for fun and astrological books for laughs.
20. I'm a snapshot person. Taking them, I mean. But I'm not very good.
21. I have a birthmark--two large, irregular spots--on top of my head.
22. I have to set my alarms clocks to go off at least three times, an hour apart, or I don't get out of bed.
23. My best friend named a character in her fic after me. I'm a werewolf who is afraid of life, and so lives in an alternate reality.
24. I love the original Tetris. I'm not so fond of its successors, but I could play the original for hours and never get bored.
25. On my mother's side, I'm the oldest great-grandchild of both, as well as the oldest grandchild. My maternal-paternal great g'ma died when I was five; I have two memories of her alive and a lot of when she died. My maternal-maternal is still alive and I intend to name my first daughter for her.
