Is it wrong that I'm spending Spiderman rating Peter Parker?

Like, okay, the dorky Pokeball thing was COMPLETELY adorable, but the cliche fight with uncle was completely not, and the whole letting-the-theif-go bit made me want to stand him in the corner. He wasn't redeemed of that until he tried to flirt with the receptionist.

On the whole, I don't think it's completely wrong, because, well...the plot kinda sucks, if you ask me. Especially if you were a dope and let your friends take you to S2 first. And then they ALL REFUSED TO WATCH THE FIRST ONE WITH YOU. *pouts*

Oh, well. Toby Maguire as Peter Parker is completely my geeky OTP-type thing. Although moreso in the second movie. I cannot take too much of the teenage-angsty-ohnoIlostmytemperwithmydeaduncleandmybestfriendhatesmecausehisdadlikesmebetter.

I mean, okay, I actually read The Princess Diaries, but even I have standards.

P. S. MJ took the time to smell and smile and be all lookathemanlyman while flying seven stories up. I probably would have, too--but only if it was TOBY MAGUIRE BEING DORKY while flying seven stories up, not the red mesh nylon suit.

ETA:

P. P. S. Sad to announce, as the movie draws to a close, that Toby Maguire does not join the large ranks of men who look better half-dead (see LotR: RotK). Neither the girl nor the best friend deserve him, nonetheless.

i hate kirsten dunst in that movie. in ever movie, actually. she makes watching it an impossibility. i think its her incredibly annoying high pitched scream. also the fact that she has never heard of the word BRA.
