OMG New Harry Dresden ROCKS

There were lots of good things about this book, but at the moment, I simply must revel in the PURE KICK-ASSNESS of Charity Carpenter. The sheer, indomitable "I am MOTHER, hear me HAMMER THE HEADS OF PEOPLE THREATENING MY CHILDREN INTO THE GROUND"ness of her. She rocks every sock in the whole big wide beautiful world. And someone, somewhere, must have depicted her in chain-mail, because I wanna icon NOW.

Oh, but the other good things! Twisting around Faerie promises and Lily and Fix and the butterfly POWERHOUSE and the AWESOMENESS.

And the Murphy/Harry conversation which was NOT squicky and gave me hope almost through the end that they would just stay a kick-ass team without all that icky romance gush.

And Molly! Molly, Molly, Molly, we love you and we are so excited to watch Harry squash you until you are a good person. Preferably with ice water. *glee*

And Ooooo lots of new things to bring out in plots, like giving away the sword and people fiddling with Little Chicago.

And YAY for fixing fences with Ebenezer!

And MICHAEL KNEW THE WHOLE TIME!! *is so amused* And Harry calculating the odds and possibilities based on the fact that God likes Michael.

And Harry The Politician, which we all knew was coming, but he did it so WELL.

And YAY the ultimate Bad Guys have a NAME. Not exactly catchy, but hey.

And there's more, but I'm gonna be late for work.
