I've spent today being snarky under my breath.

My idiotic success teachers were standing up there:

Teachers: You know what was wrong with your journals? You said you HOPED you'd do well. What's wrong with that? The HOPE. That's right. Say you WILL.

Lu, under breath: "When all the world is black against you, there is nothing wrong with hope." THERE'S a quote for you, you quote-mongering disgusting sadists.

Teachers: Or 'I'll TRY to go to all my classes'. You WILL go to all your classes.

Lu, under breath: "We can none of us do more than try," there's ANOTHER quote for you, you who believe if there's a quote saying it somewhere it's true.

Boy sitting next to Lu: *snorts with laughter*

Teachers: Is something funny down there?

Boy: Nothing, nothing at all.

Busy being amused. Finally posted anti-H/Hr essay on Portkey (hey, I've never been flamed over my shipping stance before, and until I have been I'm not a fully developed fandom member, right?) and my immediate response is:

H/Hr shippers, in chorus: "What are you talking abt, there is SO cannon tension."

Lu: 1st of all: This is abt FANNON tension which I have yet to see written convincingly, if you know of any PLEASE point me to it because I've exhausted my supply of good fics again and *slight amt of snarkiness slips in* anybody who can do that MUST be talented (see note on CC and Lori). I didn't say the snarky bit to them but I did politely explain the rest.

2nd of all: Oh, really? Can you give me an example?

H/Hr shippers, in chorus: The fight before the Dep. of Mys.

Lu, bewildered: Harry wants to save his father-figure and Hermione doesn't want Harry to die. The sexual tension is where? And while you're thinking about that, any other examples?

H/Hr shippers, in chorus: Ummmm...

Okay, I'll give them a bit more time before I'm that cruel, but I find the replying in chorus amusing.

H/Hr shippers, in chorus: The fight before the Dep. of Mys.

Hee! Told you. That's the only example I've ever heard them use. It's the only one they have and it not even right. *snort*

Can you send me a link please? *puppydog face*

I don't want to rifle through the site looking for your essay as I might find some morbid H/Hr pics and what not, which would probably make me sicker and vomit stuff at my computer, and we don't want that mess.

Please?

Okay, I'm going to play Mum here for a minute. :b

As I've been in fandom a looooooong time, I can tell you that going over and posting things like this on alternate ships sites is a recipe for disaster. If people started to come over to the CM boards and write anti R/Hr essays, we wouldn't be too happy. We would most likely shut down the thread because it would create an enviornment of bashing rather than logical and constructive debate. Added to this is the fact that there are always one or two people in a particular pocket of fen that are off their collective rockers. I've seen the consequenses of the havoc those people can wreak, and it isn't pretty.

You obviously don't have to listen to me, and can tell me to shove my un asked for adivice, but I offer it in the spirit of 'been there done that - learned my lesson the hard way'. Please please please consider the consequences of your actions before pushing the send button.

Thank you,

Harpinred/Monique

I do know...and I did think...but lina told me that they're actually rather interested in the "opposite pov" thing (she rec'd I post it there, actually).

I truly appreciate the advice...thanks for caring...and it may turn out you're right, but they have a forum for the debate of ships, so I'm hoping they'll take it OK. If not...well, lesson learned. I shall not take flaming seriously.

In any case, it's a bit late now...

Oh...they moved it to the "General Fic Discussion" forum, instead of the shippers place.
