Apr. 3rd, 2007 03:06 pmSo the new Dresden?
The Harry/Murphy interaction/chemistry is just unbelievable...the way they have each other's backs and banter about it along the way is damnably, incredibly amazing.
Thomas is his usual twisty self, and I love him for it, especially his new profession!
MOLLY! She's stubborn and adolescent but she learns enough and she does it in the right way...it's incredible.
Elaine was such a pleasant surprise and I liked having her there, providing a new dynamic. (And Murphy's constant references to "the ex" were priceless. SHE HAS NO NAME OR FUNCTION. SHE IS ONLY HARRY'S EX.)
Oh, God, Harry being given the Platinum Package! I love him so much! I even love Marcone, in a bizarre way!
And wow, oh wow, oh wow, the Marcone backstory! Who could believe it? That was so COOL. And Marcone giving people mythological codenames was so awesome!
And the Harry-Lara confrontation was so awesome. I love his gift for pissing people off while being cold and angry and--let's face it--damn sexy.
The shades of grey just growing deeper and deeper make me want to weep.
I'm so glad he freed the Little Folk...I have a deeply-held conviction that Harry's willingness to make time for the sideliners is what's going to win him this war in the end...caring about the mid-grade practitioners and the Toot-toots and the Bocks of the world.
And I am OFFICIALLY listing 'Los on my crushes list. That line up with the laser-power was the awesomest thing ever, and him and his lecture on trust, and "Ooooh, yours is cooler" and the fact that he's got Harry's back and he's still thinking of the children, of protecting them and being a good example, even when Harry is BATSHIT INSANE.
I was very, very sad not to see more of Butters.
The plot was all twisty and turny and blow-things-up-y and I loved that, as well as the fact that now everyone taunts him about the buildings.
And OMG Marcone signing papers to be a player! Wow, blow for the Muggles! Wow, Harry, you LIKE MAKING THINGS DIFFICULT, don't you?
And hey, howwabouta REALLY SCARY revelation, there, with the new powers? TELL ME WE GET MORE OF AN EXPLANATION, please, somebody, I'm DYING here.
And Lash...oh, God, LASH...*weeps*

Date: 2007-04-04 03:28 pm (UTC)And I am completely tempted. I'm now just debating whether to go through Amazon, which is cheapest, or the local bookstore, which is fastest.
