I iz bad fan
Oct. 8th, 2007 12:04 pmHOWEVER! I have FINALLY been able to sit down and watch my lovely, lovely SEASON PREMIERE!!!
Okay, first of all: THEY'RE BACK!!! Look at them! DEAN IS HALF-DROWNING PRETTY GIRLS! SAM IS A BOY KING AND HAS TONS OF DEMONS WITH A GRUDGE AFTER HIM!! BOBBY IS WEARING A SUIT AND DOING ALL THE REAL WORK!!!!!!
Okay, Dean...I'm working with, a little here, I loved what they did with him in this episode, so long as they don't keep pushing it. One episode, yes. Maybe two. But they keep telling us we're smart, and we don't need to be continuously beat over the head. WE LOVE HIM, WE KNOW HE'S DYING, OKAY? WE KNOW HOW HE'S REACTING, TOO, WE TOTALLY CALLED IT. So, y'know, let them walk a fine line. (I have confidence in them. They've done it before.) I loved his shrug of acceptance when the demon accused him of being all about his stomach and his dick. Jen played it amazingly, as always.
And Sammy! Going down together! I have horrible delicious fears that he will insist on going Below with Dean and our show will be cancelled and we will have to write fic about how they escape or possibly about them kicking Demon ass for ever and ever and ever.
And Jay, oh...he did such a good job, here, Sam never said a word about the guilt he's feeling over the demons getting out, but you could just see in his face that every time somebody mentioned it the words hit him almost physically. We'll deal with this later, I think, I hope, and Jared is going to fucking blow it out of the water. (I'm glad they didn't try to cram it in this episode.)
I do wish they'd given us a better monster for the first ep, or that some of them escaped, or something. I feel unintimidated.
As for Blonde Girl...I reserve judgement. I like her theme music. And I am a sucker for the classic (cliche, whatev you wanna call it) "show up, introduce self without really saying anything useful, and vanish" trick. However, I agree with the large portions of people on my flist who advise her to get a scrunchie. None of us are going to like her if she continues to fight monsters with unbounded hair.
I like Tamara. I hope we see her again...she had depth, thank god. (Also, her accent? VERY SEXY. *cough* I'm glad she had depth, but I reserve the right to be shallow.) I am not such a fan of her husband, or of them as a team...sugary sweet between hunting partners disturbs me...but I like her individually and I love what his death did to her and what his animated corpse did to her.
And now, for the part I liked best: BOBBY. This episode filled me with my already half-formed desire to write Bobby-fic. His voice of reason and smirkage and total kickassness turn my soul to pure glee.

I'm actually nearly always turned off by "show up, introduce self without really saying anything useful, and vanish" but because she got to kick a little ass in there, I'm reserving judgment as well. We'll see.
Tamara was on Torchwood. And not as a good guy. Kinda messed with my mind. ^_^ I actually liked them as a team. I was severely peeved, though, that while the Black Guy didn't turn out to be evil, he was an ass and an idiot and then died horribly, so someone still needs to smack Kripke. Seriously, they successfully got rid of the See a Blonde Girl, She'll Need Saving habit so can't they get rid of See a Black Guy, He's Not 100% Good?
Personally, I thought the 7 Deadlies was an awesome premise, and making the guy drink Drano or that girl kill for shoes? I don't think there has been a single episode of Supernatural that has horrified and terrified me more. The actual battle, yes, a bit lame (though god, I loved Pride), but the power those demons could wield was just gut-wrenching.
Or maybe that's just me and my control issues. ^_^

Date: 2007-10-10 01:07 am (UTC)I like Pride, too, especially as he is also Kavanagh from Atlantis season 1. He gets made to play assholes you love to hate.
I find it funny that they actually named the sources for this weeks send-up, Seven and Faust. It's always nice to go easter-egg hunting, and watching the Jensen-as-Dean-as-Brad-Pitt impersonation was comedy GOLD.
