The entire dance was three slow songs, six techno-y hiphop things too fast to dance to, three slow songs, six techno-y things...over and over and over and over. I missed the first hour and a half. I can't imagine what the people who stayed for the whole thing felt like!
And the DJ...who is a nice enough guy...apparently got his feelings hurt because people were complaining. But he gets no sympathy from me because he got several gentle hints, from requests for spec. songs to just asking for something we could actually DANCE to, and if he's going to ignore that he's going to have to take the harsh comments.
Asked to dance by guy I have a vague notion I've seen before...unexpectedly. The other people who asked me to dance were methodically asking every girl they knew to dance, so no compliment. I asked strangers to dance because I like dancing and if I'm not asked I might as well meet someone new. Nothing exciting.
Can't prove it, but will bet you sex to doughnuts he told Sarah, who told Erica (possibly at his request). (Sarah is my cousin. Erica is her childhood friend who also goes to OU. I've spoken to her once or twice, and she's nice enough, but we're entirely different types of people.)
Tonight she spent half an hour saying that the first year of college can be hard, but if you pray and really try it'll come out all right in the end. I can't prove it...perhaps you're all starting to think I'm paranoid...but how on earth else could she have known? She was very, "I'm here to talk if you need someone," etc. I am so bloody TIRED of this.
Cleanup afterwards was singing Disney w/ Kendall. I love Kendall. I love Disney songs. All was well with the world.

Date: 2004-02-14 02:57 pm (UTC)On the flip side, my fav Diz song is The Little Mermaid song.. what's it called? Part of That World? Hmmm. Can't remember, but I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about. That, and The Lion King beginning song. Awesome percussion!
I have a friend who played in the broadway version of The Lion King and she said it's her absolute favorite of all musical pieces. Just a little useless bit of info for ya. ;-)
