WHY IS IT that every time I edit a filtered entry it changes to PUBLIC VIEWING, despite the fact that the little boxes are still checked? WHY, OH GODS OF LJ, WHY???
YEAH. (My filters are like, scientifically precise, for very good reasons.)
It's the web editor. I figured out how to stop it--it's the drop-down box changing that makes it a problem--but I'm not the best at remembering to check things and OMG one of these days I'm not gonna go look at the entry and miss the little lock picture. OMG.
Hmm. Are you using Firefox by any chance? Because there was a bug with it affecting entry editing. If you have your LJ username and password saved in the password list, it tries to enter them whenever you update, thus erasing your existing login. Deleting your LJ username and password from your saved passwords list does sort it out. (You just have to make sure you ticked the Remember Me box last time you logged in, and that cookies from livejournal.com are on your list of allowed sites. (Tools>Options>Privacy>Exceptions>add www.livejournal.com and click allow))
Alternately download Semagic and edit all your entries on that. *nods* Much faster, that, and no odd problems.
