Ah yes - twasyou who gave me the Slytherin Rising rec! I have started it, I've read about 8 or 9 chapters but then I wandered off. Should I return? Does it get (I hesitate to ask) better? I haven't found it exceptional yet. Perhaps I should persist.

My major problem, I think, is the character names. Somehow, they feel totally un-HP. It gets so off-putting I'm tempted to do a 'find and replace' and give them all different names. Pathetic, aren't I? (Yes, you're allowed to agree with me!)

If you tell me I should persist, then I shall. Otherwise, meh...

Well...they're rather like the DT, really. The first book is nothing special...okay, but not great. But the second one will hook you. And unfortunately you have to read the first in order to understand the second.

If the names bother you, do it! Seriously. They did me for a bit. I've got used to her rhythms now, but they threw me at first.
