Apr. 18th, 2004 12:58 pmLend me a dagger for my inner eye...
Have the implications of Dumbledore's Put-Outer occured to anyone else?
I had a dream that I was driving on a freeway and TC was chasing me in a blue car (there were a bunch of you in that car, but I was alone). I do not know why.

Date: 2004-04-18 01:29 pm (UTC)I was in the backseat of TC's blue car while she was chasing you in a dream. Wow - I've arrived.
Erm...are you familiar with the slang term "put out"?
No, but why am I getting the feeling there's a sexual connotation (or is that just the guy thing again)?
Slang terms take longer to reach me - the "L" on the forehead sorta works like occlumency against cool-ness.

Date: 2004-04-18 02:09 pm (UTC)If a person "puts out" on a date, he or she permits his or her date to have sex with them.
And the images...Dumbledore...aaaaa, my mind's eye!

Date: 2004-04-18 09:13 pm (UTC)Consider, however, the "What do you mean, I'm not brave in bed?" line from OotP. Either she was laughing her head off while she was writing that or she didn't even consider how wrong it sounded. I personally don't think she examined the implications of the "Put-Outer" when she wrote that, as it was a children's book and she didn't, at the time, know that it would be so phenomenally popular among adults as well.
