(no subject)

Nice day. Could not sleep in, but it got better. Did really well on Latin quiz, went to library (the librarian had a cowboy barbershop quartet come in and sing to her, which I thought was sweet...and I love BQs, so I liked the music too.) Then I went to Blockbuster and had my quiet hour of pastry and hot chocolate (a weekly ritual I hope I will never give up).

When I got back I realised that all my favorite dresses are now too small. Exercise time. Seriously, my darling favorite Regency gown makes me look like a seven year old trying to fit into a smocking dress from when she was five. *sigh* So I'm wearing my standby dress that unless I put on another hundred pounds, it will be slimming and stunning.

Put up streamers and decorated the hall. We stapled little-kid valentines all over the walls: Barbie, Ninja Turtles, Hello Kitty. I liked the guy who was helping me with the streamers...he made me laugh. Red hair, too. *grins at CM people*

Came back because it won't wake up until 9:30-10 anyway.

Somebody, for the love of GOD, shoot the DJ!!!

The entire dance was three slow songs, six techno-y hiphop things too fast to dance to, three slow songs, six techno-y things...over and over and over and over. I missed the first hour and a half. I can't imagine what the people who stayed for the whole thing felt like!

And the DJ...who is a nice enough guy...apparently got his feelings hurt because people were complaining. But he gets no sympathy from me because he got several gentle hints, from requests for spec. songs to just asking for something we could actually DANCE to, and if he's going to ignore that he's going to have to take the harsh comments.

Asked to dance by guy I have a vague notion I've seen before...unexpectedly. The other people who asked me to dance were methodically asking every girl they knew to dance, so no compliment. I asked strangers to dance because I like dancing and if I'm not asked I might as well meet someone new. Nothing exciting.

Cleanup afterwards was singing Disney w/ Kendall. I love Kendall. I love Disney songs. All was well with the world.
