Okay, so: the first band I spent in line at the merch, getting a t-shirt that I promised my little brother. I got up in time to see Greta join them and drum for a song (pics/video later) but not to see Brendon sorry, Ryan help them sing one.

Then came the Hushies, which can pretty much be summed up as just GRETA!!!!!!! It is just absolutely no wonder that she is bandom's darling, she so totally deserves it, she is just...she's sweet and hot and cute and smart and she rocks out and watching her play the keyboard I nearly spontaneously combusted. I will say when I could tear my eyes away that her band were quite good and fairly adorable, too, but mostly? I was just ALL GRETA. (Brendon joined them for one verse, and did his adorkable little church-singing pose, which made me smile.)

The third band gave a pretty good show, but I knew nothing about them and dismiss them in favor of PANIC!!!

You know, with MCR, I got there and watched them and I was all, see, they're real people, we exaggerate some of their traits, but they are human beings and not fictional characters, and then I couldn't read any for several weeks.

With Panic? Boy, the ones who live in my head are less cartoony! They seem less real, having smiled at them and talked to them and been touched by them, than when they only lived in my head! Ryan is EVEN MORE SPINDLY, Jon is EVEN MORE LAIDBACK, Spencer is EVEN MORE RIDICULOUSLY HOT, Brendon waggles his eyebrows EVEN MORE. Only our baby boys, I tell you.

They were clearly having SO MUCH FUN, especially when they came out for an encore...they were just rocking their little hearts out. Brendon was on the attention high of a LIFETIME, and he and Ryan played to each other like they couldn't imagine a better time.

Things that happened:

--Ryan tried to toss Zack his tambourine and threw it over Zack's head

--Brendon knocked over the cup of beer by his mike and had to jump backwards to escape it

--Jon threw a cup at Spencer and they both laughed

--Zack followed Ryan around keeping him from getting tangled in his guitar wires; Ryan needed saving, it was kind of hilarious

--Brendon sort of dove at the little lower shelf on Spencer's platform where they were storing snacks and drinks and came up with a potato chip in his mouth like a bear cub diving for a fish

--Ryan was wearing a vest made of one of the merch shirts (REINVENT ♥) which I have decided he sewed for himself. (Somebody's still writing Ryan Ross: Domestic Goddess, right?)

--Jon and Ryan's stage banter sounded like they were the nervous kids reciting their two lines in the third grade play. I wanted to smish them both.

--Jon and Ryan both played to Spencer quite regularly, which made my eyes go ♥__♥

--There was a text message soap opera going on:

BRYCE ASK AUBREY OUT (I felt soooo sorry for Aubrey because I would kill my friends if they did that, but it had a happy ending)

BRYCE YES I WILL GO OUT WITH YOU AUBREY

AUBREY WHERE ARE YOU BRYCE

BRYCE IM IN THE FRONT ROW WEARING A BLACK PANIC SHIRT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE

after which, presumably they found each other. But it was highly amusing.

--at one point, Brendon leaned down and did some kind of secret handshake with Shane over the edge of the stage; HI SHANE

--Forgive me, I'm still sort of ridiculously excited that my shirt got the reaction it did--I got to meet them, I'm probably on a contact high--but I think what makes me happiest is that Zack clearly brought me to the boys as a kind of present, he was explaining all about how I got it made and going, "See? Isn't it cool?" and I think really that the guys were telling him that it was cool more than they were telling me. It was an awesome band-loves-Zack-and-Zack-loves-band demonstration.

The only tiny flaw to the evening was that is was cold, and Jon wore socks. :-( But other than that, it was just so, so, so fabulous.
